7 reasons to watch Dutton Ranch on DStv
The record-breaking Yellowstone spin-off arrives on M-Net on 29 June, as Beth and Rip face off against a new rival, played by Annette Bening, in South Texas.
With less than a week until the launch of Dutton Ranch on M-Net, DStv channel 101, the next instalment in the Taylor Sheridan universe has been breaking viewing records globally.
Premiering on M-Net on 29 June at 9pm, Paramount’s Dutton Ranch sees the return of one of modern television’s most ferocious love stories, as Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) fight to build a future together in South Texas, far from the ghosts of Yellowstone.
If the return of TV’s most charismatic duo isn’t enough, here are more reasons to add Dutton Ranch to your watchlist:
1. While Dutton Ranch is the fifth spin-off in the popular Taylor Sheridan franchise, it’s considered the sequel to Yellowstone.
2. Dutton Ranch is a hit with critics, deemed “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with an 88% score. Fandomwire.com claims “there is simply nothing like it on television, on any network or streaming service…volatile, and wildly entertaining.”
3. The story shifts from Montana to Rio Paloma, South Texas. There, Beth and Rip face brutal new realities on their cherished 7,000-acre ranch amid stiff competition, while ensuring their adopted son Carter (Finn Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.
Annette Bening as Beaulah in Dutton Ranch
4. Academy Award nominee Annette Bening rings in a formidable performance as Beulah Jackson, a ruthless rival and owner of 10 Petal Ranch, who will stop at nothing to protect her empire.
5. She is joined by fellow Academy Award nominee Ed Harris, as Everett McKinney, a former veteran who befriends Beth and Rip, and has a complicated history with Beulah.
6. If you’re a country music fan, you might recognise singer-songwriter Morgan Wade, who makes her acting debut in a recurring role as Carol, a bartender at the local watering hole who has seen it all.
7. Dutton Ranch has propelled Eminem’s 2002 hit Till I Collapse, the opening soundtrack for the series, back into the playlist, with a new all-time peak of No. 3 on Billboard’s Rap Digital Song Sales charts.
Catch the premiere of Dutton Ranch on M-Net channel 101 at 9PM, later on Catch Up, or online on DStv Stream. New episodes every Monday night.
