Novelas+ is coming to DStv

MultiChoice, a CANAL+ company, is thrilled to announce the launch of two Novelas+ channels in English and in Portuguese, devoted entirely to telenovelas, a very popular and successful genre.

The iconic Novelas TV, also becoming NOVELAS+, is already the number one channel in French-speaking Africa in terms of audience size. With this collaboration and launch starting July 1st, English- and Portuguese-speaking viewers will each have their own Novelas+ channel, where they can tune for dramas from Latin America, the United States, Portugal, and Turkey.

What to watch on Novelas+

1. Avenida Brasil

   A gripping Latin American sensation, Avenida Brasil follows the story of a woman abandoned as a child who returns years later determined to seek revenge. Starring Débora Falabella alongside Adriana Esteves—whose villainous role is considered one of television’s most iconic—the series is packed with emotional twists, betrayal, and long-awaited justice.

2. Be My Sunshine

   This Turkish rom-com delivers a feel-good escape with a bright summer love story. Featuring Ayça Ayşin Turan and Alp Navruz, the series blends romance, humour, and heart, making it an easy, uplifting watch filled with chemistry and charm.

3. Doménica Montero

   Mexico’s Angelique Boyer shines in this modern remake of the beloved classic. Playing the strong-willed Doménica, she brings intensity and vulnerability to a story centred on love, heartbreak, and redemption, making it a standout drama for fans of powerful performances.

4. Sin and Roses

   A dramatic Turkish series that explores secrets and consequences, Sin and Roses follows a successful businessman whose life falls apart after discovering his wife’s hidden past. Starring Murat Yıldırım and Cemre Baysel, the show is filled with suspense, emotional conflict, and shocking revelations.

5. A Fazenda

   Set against the backdrop of Angola, A Fazenda is a compelling Portuguese-language drama about legacy, love, and betrayal. Margarida Corceiro plays Eva Lacerda, who inherits a farm connected to her mother’s past, while Evandro Gomes portrays Talu, a loyal figure caught in unfolding tensions.

6. Forbidden Love

Novelas+ will be available from 1 July on DStv Access and GOtv Plus in English-speaking African territories, and on DStv Facil and GOtv Plus in Portuguese territories.
