Second stream for all Premium, Compact Plus and Compact

DStv Premium, Compact Plus, and Compact customers will have access to two concurrent streams as part of their subscription, giving them the freedom to watch on any device, including smart TVs, laptops or smartphones.

The update offers greater flexibility to customers, making it easier for them to watch what they want when they want. DStv Stream standalone customers will also benefit from an additional concurrent stream on any device.  

The latest development builds on the DStv Stream enhancements introduced last year.

These include cloud PVR functionality that offers the ability to pause and rewind up to 24 hours without a decoder, an improved ‘Watch from Start’ feature, a refreshed interface with personalised recommendations, better overall stability and AI-driven content suggestions – with each new feature designed to make streaming seamless and more user-friendly. 

With DStv’s packed sports calendar and broad choice of general entertainment channels, more people will have access to enjoy content at the same. DStv continues to deliver arguably the best sport offering in the world, giving fans more action than ever. On 29 January, SuperSport set a record of its own by making 18 live UEFA Champions League fixtures available on the same day.

DStv also has an extensive library of content on-demand as well as live channels. Entertainment lovers can use the second stream to watch a movie, comedy series or reality show, while someone else in the home can binge-watch their favourite drama.

The return of the second stream adds even more value to DStv’s Premium, Compact Plus and Compact packages.

DStv Premium customers, who already receive Showmax at no extra cost, now have access to two DStv streams and two Showmax streams, bringing their total concurrent streaming options to four.

DStv Compact customers also now have two DStv streams, can add Showmax to their subscription at a discount, and enjoy two Showmax streams, also giving them four concurrent streaming options in total.
