Hardware FAQs

The recommended installation is the same for all our DStv Explora models. It requires a DStv Smart LNB with an 80cm satellite dish. 

For customers that live in a complex, share a dish, have XtraView, or have the decoder connected to multiple TVs, we recommend consulting a DStv Accredited Installer. 

We recommend the use of a DStv Accredited Installer for all installations. You can find your closest one here. All installations include a 12-month guarantee on equipment and a 3-month guarantee on workmanship. 

Customers moving from an existing Explora model will not need to make any changes to their installation. 

They can simply unplug the older Explora then plug in the DStv Explora Ultra (making sure to use the HDMI cable and power supply packaged with the decoder).
