A new Turkish telenovela dubbed in Afrikaans, My Name Is Farah, will premiere on kykNET&kie (DStv channel 145) on 14 October at 20:00.
Packed with drama and romance, the series follows the story of Farah Ersadi, a 28-year-old Iranian doctor living in Istanbul. Unable to practice medicine in Turkey, she works illegally as a cleaner to support her six-year-old son, Kerimsah, who suffers from a life-threatening autoimmune disease.
Farah's life takes a dramatic turn when she witnesses a murder carried out by the local mafia. The mafia boss orders Tahir Lekesiz to eliminate her, but Tahir is torn between his loyalty to the mafia and his growing feelings for Farah and her son.
The series, originally titled Adim Farah, is adapted from the Argentine show La chica que limpia. It stars Demet Özdemir as Farah and Engin Akyürek as Tahir. The Afrikaans voices are provided by Mandi Baard and Reynard Slabbert, respectively.
Tune in to My Name Is Farah on kykNET&kie from 14 October.
