WWE SummerSlam will feature all the body-slamming action you can handle, with the event taking place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, on the morning of Sunday 4 August 2024.
DStv is the only place to see all your favourites from the WWE Universe!
This year’s SummerSlam will be the 37th edition of the annual event and is set to feature no less than six singles matches which have Championships on the line – headlined by Cody Rhodes putting his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Solo Sikoa.
‘The American Nightmare’ must have thought that his feud with ‘The Bloodline’ was done when he defeated Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed title at WrestleMania, but in the absence of Reigns, Sikoa has become the Tribal Chief and put together a faction which is now more ruthless and brutal than ever.
‘The Bloodline’ has handed injuries to Rhodes’s allies, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, but the champion is determined to stand his ground.
“The Bloodline hurt my friends... but they’re just the tip of the iceberg,” said Rhodes. “I can’t stand bullies, and that’s exactly what Solo Sikoa and his sycophants represent. I am going to defend my title and prove that the Tribal Chief is a fake and an imposter.”
The match card will also feature Liv Morgan defending the Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley. These former friends and tag-team partners have each inflicted shoulder injuries on the other – leading to time out of action for both – and this deeply personal battle could be the best clash of SummerSlam.
“The ‘Liv Morgan Revenge Tour’ will only be complete when I defend my title against Rhea Ripley,” said Morgan. “’Mami’ may be back, but she’ll find out very quickly that I have replaced her in every way possible.”
Other matches set to rumble the ‘squared circle’ include Damian Priest v Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship; Bayley v Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Championship; Logan Paul v LA Knight for the WWE United States Championship; Sami Zayn v Bron Breakker for the WWE Intercontinental Championship; and the long-awaited meeting of CM Punk and Drew McIntyre – with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins as a special guest referee.
